Take a look at the eLearning modules
We have created eight eLearning modules in collaboration with lived experience carers and HR professionals. Together they give an insight to the challenges carers face, along with the steps you can take as an employer to create a carer-inclusive workplace.
Each module takes approximately 20 minutes to complete. They are entirely free of charge. To start a module, click on the links below.

Module 1
Who is a carer?
Carers are an integral part of every community in Australia, yet they frequently go unrecognised and unsupported in the workplace.
Completing this module will help you understand who carers are, describe some common caring situations, and recognise the challenges carers face.
You’ll see how you can be a part of supporting carers, and benefit your organisation, by implementing carer-inclusive practices in your workplace.
Set aside up to 20 minutes to complete this module.
Module 2
What is a carer-inclusive organisation?
This module will introduce you to what a carer-inclusive workplace is and your role in supporting carers.
You’ll explore the basic legal rights of carers in the workplace, and see the benefits of adopting carer-inclusive practices in your organisation. This module is also a great starting point for thinking over a statement of intent for carer inclusion.
Set aside up to 20 minutes to complete this module.
Module 3
What are carer-inclusive practices?
In the last module – ‘What is a carer-inclusive organisation?’ – we started you on the journey to becoming a carer-inclusive organisation, and showed you how to set a carer-inclusion statement of intent.
This module continues the journey, exploring how you can put your statement of intent into action by implementing carer-inclusive workplace practices.
We’ll introduce you to good practice when communicating carer-inclusive workplace practices to your employees, and how to manage requests from carers for support.
Set aside up to 15 minutes to complete this module.
Module 4
How do I create a carer-inclusive culture?
The ‘What is a carer-inclusive organisation?’ module introduced you to the journey of becoming a carer-inclusive organisation, starting with a statement of intent.
The ‘What are carer-inclusive practices?’ module built on this by helping you identify carer-inclusive practices for your workplace.
In this final module, we’ll explore the last step in your journey – creating a positive and transparent culture in your workplace, where being carer inclusive is just part of how things are done.
Set aside up to 15 minutes to complete this module.
